When aiming to accelerate digital service development and enable more user-centric approach, IKT ORKidé member municipalities faced that challenge that the technical landscape built over years was too complex and there were unnecessarily many layers that made the whole system difficult to operate. Simplification and also cultural changes were required.
The ICT cooperation, IKT ORKidé, became a key player in achieving this in the entire region on Nordmøre. Together with their 9 member municipalities, they made a plan for digital transformation that has been adopted in all member municipalities. It has a cloud-first strategy, that is, to have software delivered as a service over the internet.
